Now in its second year, UK Construction Week proved to be a vibrant, varied and busy show. We worked hard all summer to create the main hub space for the Surface & Materials Show (one of nine shows under the one roof of the NEC in Birmingham). Here's the lowdown on what we showed...
Be they hard or soft, large or small designed, surfaces are around us all of the time. We are constantly on the hunt for beautiful and functional surface materials to show and share in the studio. For the exhibition, we brought together some of the finest makers and manufacturers around right now.
In order to offer a breadth of current surface design trends, we carefully selected materials – be it for their innovation, craft, environmental approach or sense of luxury. The mix of distinct brands we had on show offered insight into a new phase of advancement in designed surfaces, for a mix of design applications. Running throughout the show were a series of informative seminars on all things surfaces and materials, as well as live demonstrations from a number of our designer-maker exhibitors.
