The countdown is on to MoOD (Meet only Original Designs) – a boutique show that takes place in Brussels, Belgium (from 6-8 September 2017). Focusing primarily on gathering high-level exhibitors, the event is dedicated to interior textiles, exploring the world of upholstery, window and wall coverings for the residential and contract markets.
Helping promote the top-level collections of over 200 exhibitors to the European market, MoOD centres on new trends in pattern and surface design, alongside providing a platform for innovative products, materials and techniques.
The exhibition has four main areas, including The Launchpad for start-up businesses and designers, MoOD Innovation – which focuses on new materials, surface design at Indigo Brussels, and finally the Innovation Platform in collaboration with MoOD’s partners.
Additionally, MoOD Tech brings the latest technologies revealing the future of textile, promoting LED, digital printing, E-embroidery and conductive inks to the weeks’ visitors.
We’re specifically taking part in the popular MoOD Innovation Platform, a section highlighting samples for interior design, the automotive and furniture industries, and the A&D community, acting as curators alongside ColourHive.
On Wednesday 6 September at 3pm, our Editor-at-Large, Jim Biddulph, will hold a seminar to discuss the future of surface materials, themed on the concept of re-use, re-life, re-cycle, re-purpose and re-constitution, sharing notable examples of surfaces that transform existing forms from one state to another.
Jim will include insight from material makers and manufacturers, as well as specifiers, sharing the processes that are involved in generating a new lease of life for materials. Altogether, discovering the pros and cons of such regeneration.
The event takes place from 6-8 September 2017, from 9.30am until 6pm.
