27.10.2016

This week in the studio, we have a new display reflecting Formica's Future Vision .

They have identified three key trends and have created a report of the current and future themes in the design industry.

Using Formica's trend reports, and our extensive supply of materials, we have created a wall-scale moodboard to represent how these schemes and influences can be used throughout various areas of design.

Personal sanctuary 'looks to create a moment of calm amidst the urban chaos’. The colour scheme is warm and combines a neutral base with some elements of strong colour, including metallic elements to inject a level of luxury.

Spectral is a bold contrast to the surrounding materials, confidently embracing the whole colour spectrum, ‘with a solid colour, back to basics palette, a feeling of energy and optimism’. Inspired by fine art and opposing technology-driven design, the inspiration for this trend takes a low-tech approach, ‘championing a more free-hand style’.

Smart organic is driven by ‘reclaiming responsibility for our environment’, and we have collected a selection of sustainable samples to create a soft palette that represents recycled materials in a contemporary way.
